The UK Prime Minister plans to press supporting countries to provide Ukrainian forces with more extended-range weaponry to strike enemy locations during a meeting in Britain on Friday.

The prime minister is set to welcome Ukraine's leader the Ukrainian head of state alongside the so-called "group of committed partners", comprising more than 20 of Kyiv's partners who have committed to offer Ukraine defense assurances once a ceasefire is brokered.

Ukraine's president has been urging for weeks for additional long-range weapons from allied countries, a move that Moscow has cautions would intensify the conflict.

President Zelensky is coming from Belgium, where he met European representatives on Thursday seeking financial support.

Britain's leader will encourage leaders to expand the supply of extended-range systems following a productive strike on an industrial facility in Bryansk, Russia, using UK-provided Storm Shadow missiles.

Several minors were among at least seven killed in multiple Russian strikes on the country, which hit a preschool facility in the major urban center Kharkiv.
